Things I love the most:

#1- When both of my kids take naps at the same time
#2- Driving around aimlessly looking for Christmas lights
#3- Josh being done with his finals...FINALLY!!!
#4- My little Skylar learning to walk...

Yup. I can't believe it either...although, I *should* considering she is almost 14 months old! (c: Oh well. It is darn cute, though.

Sacrament Meeting Shout Out...

Another great memory...
As we were sitting in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, I was *trying* to study my lesson for the 10 year-olds that I teach, but Caden was having none of it. He kept insisting on sticking his little fingers in the binding holes of my manual, right across where I was trying to read. After being told to stop repeatedly, I just resorted to brushing his hand away when he pulled his little attention-getting stunt. Finally, I was exasperated and swept his hand away with a little more force than the other times...you might call it a "swat". So, to "one-up" me, Caden shouted very loudly: "Hey, get the hell out of here!!!". Heads all around us snapped around, and we started hearing giggling, one of the sisters sitting behind my mother-in-law tapped her on the shoulder and asked, laughing, "Did he get that from Daddy or Grandpa?" and she answered "Probably Rusty, but you can take your pick!" Thank you Caden, thank you for keeping your mama humble and entertaining bored church-goers. (c:

Is it that time AGAIN?!?

Yep, it's Christmas family photo time again...It's Josh's absolute FAVORITE thing to do with his family! (c: But despite a *very* bored two year old and one *very* fast one year old, we managed to salvage a few good pictures from the "experience"...

Our little angel....
And our wonderful little...*sigh*...boy: this was his "nice" smile

And the peanut gallery...BTW, Caden is smiling like that because the photographer was letting him pretend to "kick" the stuffed cat that was entertaining Skylar. It was a proud moment.

Leaves are falling all around

Aren't the leaves so much fun? Caden and Skylar thought so...

Skylar's First Birthday!

So Skylar's first b-day was, well, already a month ago...but also a fun little family get-together. She REALLY enjoyed her cinnamon roll cake (they are her absolute favorite, she is a daddy's girl) and kinda enjoyed the presents! Happy birthday, Big Sky!

Halloween...finally....

Yeah, I'm going to skip the lame excuses about potty training and sickness and school and yadda, yadda, yadda...and get right to the good stuff! Here, finally, are the two cutest tinkerbell and Rambo on the planet. Is it just me, or does Halloween get to be even more fun with kids???? (c:

Natural History Rocks My World

So a couple weekends ago we decided that it was high time we took the kiddos to the Natural History Museum...imagine how EXCITED I was when we got there that day and found out it was FREE because they were having a special event! How lucky was that???(c: We had so much fun with the neat exhibits and all the DINOSAURS!
This is Caden showing us his "muscles" with the big dino...

Happy Birthday, Dear Skylar!!!

Yeah, I know...there is NO WAY that she is a year old. But it's true, today is Skylar's first birthday and I don't even know exactly how I feel about that! She is so much fun and I just can't wrap my head around the fact that she has been in our family for a whole year/ONLY a year! And now she is getting so big and lady-like, this video is proof of that...yeah, just try to picture this same behavior in the middle of Sunday school with grandma. Way to take one for the team, grandma Debbie! Happy Birthday Skylar, we love you!

DID YOU DIE????!!!

No, we didn't, but I have seriously had absolutely no motivation to blog lately. Not from lack of news or pictures, just lact of motivation!!! Sad, I know. But this will be the catch-up of all catch ups...
Hannah went to Homecoming a couple of weeks ago and I agreed to do her hair, she was adorable, but when her date came to pick her up, Caden the streaker stole the show. In grandma's tennis shoes, no less...

Then it's been BALLON FIESTA!!! I love this time of year because #1 it's so fun and magical with all the ballons everywhere, and #2 because it starts feeling like FALL...ooooo, it's the best!!! The kids had so much fun with all the balloons that came our way...

Then we had the most fun of all with a visit from the Haymores! Caden loves nothing more than his bestest buddy, Rylee, and they had a blast at Explora, the zoo, and "camping" in Grandma's backyard....

We even had time for a little picture in a helicopter (Caden was obsessed with it) at the local Walmart "Fire Safety Day"...

Skylar is having a birthday at the end of the month and I can't believe she is already going to be one year old! She is getting in to absolutely EVERYTHING and loving every second! Caden of course keeps us laughing and this weekend was no exception with a quote from his new favorite movie "Meet the Robinsons":

Dad: Caden that is enough, I don't want you to do that anymore or you are going to be in trouble!
Caden: Don't sass me, boy, I know KARATE!!!

Yep, his other favorite quote that he like to use on us is "I know you're not a pigeon!"...yeah, it's really random, but darn funny at the same time!

Conversation with a 2 year-old, part II

So Caden's uncle Ethan just left to go into the MTC (missionary training center) this morning with the 'rents, and this is the conversation Caden and I had this morning...
Caden: Where's grandma and grandpa?
Me: They went to take uncle Ethan up to Utah to be a missionary. He's going to the M-T-C (enunciating very carefully so he understands)
*pause*
Caden: The M&M??
Me: No, the M-T-C (even slower)...
Caden: The M - see - see???
Me: No, the M - T - C, the missionary training center.
Caden: (exasperated and rolling his eyes) I *know* that!

*sigh*...sure you did buddy, sure you did. (c:

And every time he is asked where Ethan is, his answer is "The M&M"...close enough.

Crawling...kinda of...(c:

So our little Skylar started to crawl about two weeks ago and we thought that as she got better at it, she would stop crawling like this. Apparently, we were mistaken. Of course, as her mom, I think it is adorable...funny, but adorable!

Okay, so that didn't work out so good with using your pictures, Mo...I guess I will have to stop being lazy and use my own...

Edwards Fam Reunion...

I can't believe I haven't done a post in a month! Well, this weekend for labor day, we went up to Navajo Lake with Josh's family (everyone but Eli, who is on his mission in AL). We had a blast fishing, eating, sleeping, swimming, going to Durango, and almost killing the drunken partiers camped next to us...but that is a whole other story! We had a blast, and yes, I am too lazy to download my own pictures so I stole Mo's pictures off facebook...should I admit that to everyone?? Thanks Auntie Mo!!!

If you are wondering about the new button...

This came from my sister's blog...

IN MEMORY...
of a truly amazing husband, father, friend and servant of our Heavenly Father.

My dear friend's husband, Kameron Haban, passed away this morning at 10am after a long and difficult fight with Lupus. Kameron was a generous, loving and incredible person. His wife, Jami, is a strong, faithful and just plain amazing woman who has been such a rock through this whole trial. His son, Kason, is a 2 1/2 year old who is so sweet, soft-spoken and tender-hearted. Jami and Kason are now left on this earth without their sweet husband and father. While they know they WILL be reunited with him, they are need of thoughts and prayers. I would also like to make a plea to everyone to help support this family in another way. We just opened up an account in their behalf yesterday. Anybody can go to any Bank of America branch and ask to make a donation to the account under JamiLynn Haban for the benefit of Kameron Haban -OR- you could also make an online donation at paypal.com then send a donation to habanfundraiser@gmail.com. Please know that I would never ask this of you if it wasn't something that I truly believed in and something and someone that is in true need. Thank you so much to everyone for their support and love.

If you would like more information on the family, you are welcome to check out her blog where she has been documenting her experience. It is a detailed and heart-felt blog that is sure to touch your heart. The address is kamandjami.blogspot.com

Thanks again. Much love to you all

Caden: (showing me a book with a snake in it) Mom, I need a snake wike dat. He a COOL snake.
Me: Oh, yeah, he is really cool.
Caden: He a NICE snake, I hug him wike dis! (hugging his book) He a good snake, he go pee on the potty!
Me: Wow, that is awesome...but I don't think that snakes usually go on the potty.
Caden: Because he doesn't have a bum????
Me: Sure, buddy, I guess that's why...

I love how 2 year-old's minds work...

Where is a camera when you need it?

I so desperately need my camera back from the repair shop...but until then I will continue posting crappy pictures off my phone! (c: Just some randomness, just trying to keep ourselves entertained...and the two of caden are at Explora (super fun, by the way) when Kara, Garrick, Rylee, and Jadyn came to visit. I would have a bunch of super cute pictures of that visit if SOMEONE would send them to me...I didn't say it was you, kara, no pressure...(c:

You did WHAT in your pants?!?!!!

Yes, that is Caden in his "big boy underwear"...and yes, potty training is the bane of my exisitence at this point! How in the heck does one keep their sanity with a two and a half year old that has just been asked 15 kajillion times if they need to sit on the potty and then says "I pee in my pants" two seconds later????? OR even worse..."mommy, I POOP". I'm pretty sure I need to STOP praying for patience because Heavenly Father is really trying to give it to me...and I'm really resisting...(c:

On a happier note...this is my little girl with HAIR!!! For those of you who haven't seen her in a while (I know this picture is terrible, stupid camera phone), she is getting the cutest little curls in the back...they look just like Caden's hair at that age *sniff*. Speaking of Caden, he went to run an errand with his grandma today (no potty catastrophe, thank GOODNESS) and they called me with a question and of course he wanted to talk to mommy...I had no idea how grown-up he would sound and of course I choked right up. He is so lucky is so darn cute...

Just call him Luke Snakewalker....

Caden is OBSESSED with three things...Motorcycles, fishing, and snakes. His auntie Serene bought him some rubber snakes and after discussing it with his Grandma Debbie, he decided his snake needed a "walk". He found a leash and hooked that baby up...so if you are wondering why he is dragging a rubber snake on a leash (excuse the bad pic, our camera is broken), there you go. (c:

WARNING: Graphic images, viewer discretion is advised

So we have been having a busy and fun summer...that might explain why I haven't done a real post in quite a while! But these are obviously not the graphic images, I put those further down so those of you that have weak stomachs aren't subjected to the horror of my foot surgery....(c:

Part of Josh's father's day weekend was an Isotopes game and me learning how to make his favorite: cinnamon rolls. And for those of you who know me, I don't cook. But I was awfully proud of these...

Caden and Skylar cooling off in the pool...

Caden being SUPER happy at an outing to Cochiti Lake...

A ride from big brother...

And for the moment you've all been waiting for...my foot started hurting a couple months ago and I thought that I had a stress fracture or something, so naturally I refused to go to the doctor. Makes sense right? Well, surprisingly enough, not only did it not get better, but I got this weird lump on the top of my foot. So then I should have made a doctors appointment, right? NO. I just asked everyone in my family what they thought about it until Josh got sick of it and made me a doctors appointment. Well, it turned out I had what is called a Ganglion cyst on my foot that the best way to get rid of it is a little foot surgery...and these are the beautiful pictures I had Josh take because I was too chicken to look myself:

And for those of you who know me, I LOVE my shoes...and just look at this fabulous new addition to my collection:

You're jealous. I know. (c:
