What a cute Daddy...

So I still feel kinda guily that I never posted a "I love my husband and think he's a great dad" post for Father's Day (he never reads my blog, so it's not like he would see it!). But I came across these cute pictures of my wonderful hubby and figured I should say something about it. He really is such an amazing guy and such a great Daddy, Caden and I just adore him! He is definitely not without flaws, but somehow, they just make me want to love him more. I always thank Heavenly Father for such a wonderful companion and I am so glad he's stuck with me for eternity! Shhh...he doesn't know that yet! Ha ha (c:

And the moment we've been waiting for...

Well, maybe you all weren't waiting, but I was! So, I waited until, let's face it, REALLY late to finally go to the doctor for this pregnancy and it turns out I was right on the money about how far along I am: about 18 weeks...which gives me a due date of November 3rd! Yah! But of course the more exciting part is that this is far enough along that I could get my ultrasound and find out what the baby is! Drumroll....well, if you haven't guessed from the clipart already IT'S A GIRL!!!!! We're so excited, I'm sure Caden will make a great big brother...

Firsts at Navajo Lake...

So we went to Navajo Lake this weekend to finally get some fishing in, Josh has been dying to go since, oh, March. (c: It was so fun to get away and Caden had a bunch of "firsts": first boatride, first time driving the boat, first up-close encounter with a real live fish, first campout...it was great! That poor little boy ran himself into the ground, but still managed to stay in a good mood. Fishing, camping, hunting, etc. are BIG in the Edwards family, so we have to start them early lovin' it! It seems we are off to a GREAT start considering we can't ever get Caden to come INSIDE...

Memorial Weekend Fun!

Yes, this image has been edited for your veiwing pleasure (and also I don't want my son to be mortified someday: "Mom, you put me NAKED on your blog page!?!?). This picture was just so darn cute of Caden and Rylee in the little tiny pool! This was just an impromtu swim session, so neither had a bathing suit, which you can tell bothered them immensely! (c: They were so obsessed, especially Caden, that we could barely get them out! I guess we know how Caden will be spending most of his summer (but preferrably WITH a bathing suit!)!

Congrats to Carleigh, our little tiger! (c:

So this weekend, my little sister Carleigh graduated from high school! She is the second to youngest in our family and my mom's 5th to graduate from La Cueva, YIKES! (c: I just wanted to say how darn adorable and wonderful she is, I am so very proud of her. She also got her Young Womens Recognition Award on Saturday, so it was a big weekend! She is such a great person and such a strong young woman and I am so glad we got to be a part of her special day. And yes, they held graduation on MOTHER'S DAY...jerks. But it was still a great day, thanks to the two men in my life, Josh and Caden! Josh trained Caden to come and give me my present and it was just so precious! It was the best part of my day. Isn't it funny what means the most to moms? (c: Thanks to all the awesome women in my life, moms or future moms, it's a hard job, but you all do it so well! Happy belated Mother's Day!

Tag!

So apparently I have been "tagged" by Rylee, or more appropriately, Caden has...so I decided not to be a party pooper and name seven things that I love about my favorite kid!

1. Look at that cute little face! How could you not love it???

2. He is so sweet and cuddly...he lets me squish his fat little cheeks in bone crushing hugs all the ti

me.

3. He absolutely adores his Daddy. In fact, I actually complain that he never says "mama", but always says "Daddy" (yes, I know I will change my tune as soon as it becomes connected with whining).

4. He is getting to be such a fun little pal, he learns new things every day...in fact, his daddy's new favorite thing is that if you give him your trash, he'll throw it away for you. While this is incredibly adorable, I don't approve of him making his dad any more spoiled than he already is! (c:

5. HIS SMILE!!! I know I already said his cute face, but that face is definitely not always happy! However, that little smile can light up a room and makes my day...it can cheer up anyone!

6. I love how he just loves everyone...we happen to have some smokers/convicted felons that live below us in the apts (NON-SMOKING apts, I might add, sense the bitterness???) and they are always out there polluting the air and my apt, which ticks me off really bad...but Caden is always so excited to see them and puts on his best grin and waves like crazy to them. It always makes me wish I could accept people for who they are more readily...well, maybe not those exact people...

7. He makes me want to be better. At everything. I look at that little boy and realize the little miracle that he is and where he came from not so long ago and I remember that I have so much to work on to deserve having the joy of raising such a great kid.

This is just one big, fat brag blog, I know...sorry about getting all mushy at the end! )c: But he really is great...I've got the two greatest guys in the world!
